RENTAL INFORMATION

CHALET KILIMA IS A SELF-CATERING CHALET

WHY CHOOSE CHALET KILIMA?

We want you to feel at home so we run Chalet Kilima like a home. We provide everything you would expect to have in your kitchen/laundry room/cleaning cupboard and expect our guests to treat it with respect and leave it clean and tidy after their stay. This makes it cheaper for everyone and adds to the home away from home experience.

HOW DOES THE CLEANING WORK?

You have to clean, hoover and tidy the chalet before you leave. This means we can keep our costs down so we can pass the saving on to you. We expect guests to leave the chalet as they found it. You will have to be prepared to clean baths, loos, sinks, empty bins and leave the cooker and fridge clean, etc. It does take a while but it means the money that you save can be spent on other things.

WHO PROVIDES THE BED LINEN?

You will need to provide a single sheet, duvet cover, pillow case and towel for each of your guests. These can be rented through an independant company in the village but it is often cheaper to visit Tesco/Asda before you come out.

HOW FAR IS IT FROM THE SKI LIFTS AND VILLAGE?

It is about an 8 minute walk from the main ski lift in Les Carroz if you take a short cut through the woods. If you walk along the road it is slightly longer. When the snow is really good you can ski off-piste to just above the chalet. The walk back home can take longer as it's uphill!

The village is a further 3 minute walk downhill from the main ski lift.

SITUATION WITHIN THE TOWN

WHY IS BEING OUT OF THE TOWN CENTRE A BONUS?

The views over the village from the chalet are breathtaking and it's most unique feature. The road beyond the chalet is a dead end leading to gorgeous woodland where you can go for walks or toboggan through the trees. It's incredibly peaceful and the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

DO I NEED A CAR?

It's not essential but is probably advisable to have a car; carrying all your shopping and ski equipment up the hill on a daily basis can be tiring.

IS THERE PARKING?

There is free parking just further up and down the road from the chalet (about 100m). You can pull up outside the chalet to load and unload but we don't recommend leaving your car there for a long time as it's on a bend and will obstruct the snowplough.

AND A FEW OTHER THINGS...

IS THERE WIFI AND A TV?

The chalet does have WiFi which you can use during your stay and there is basic freeview English TV and a DVD player. You will also find a cupboard full of puzzles and games to amuse yourself.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

We are open to the idea of having well trained dogs to stay providing they don't go on the furniture. Please do drop us an email and ask before your stay.

CAN I BOOK FOR LESS THAN A WEEK?

We only let the chalet out by the week. You can arrive anytime during your week and our prices are quite competitive so don't be put off by this as it can be cheaper to have our chalet for a week than others for just a few nights. Our bookings run from a Saturday to a Saturday.
